“Egg-Vidence” for the Resurrection – Teach your kids the ‘evidence’ of this historic event
The Resurrection of Jesus Christ is the crux of the Christian faith. The Apostle Paul said that without Christ rising from the dead, we have nothing to believe in—our faith is useless.[1]
Yet, that is what many skeptics claim today: that Christianity is not true because Jesus did not rise from the dead (since they believe that miracles can’t happen). They liken the faith in the Resurrection to faith in the Easter Bunny; to them, it’s one and the same.
But that is not true!
There is good evidence to believe that the Resurrection DID happen. Since this event was recorded by many sources within a few years of its occurrence, what the eye-witnesses wrote down is credible. There are facts and details written in the Gospels, for example, that give authenticity to this event.
I wrote a children’s book (best for elementary-age students, 2nd grade and up) describing many of these things called: EggVidence for the Resurrection. It’s about the “evidence” of why the Resurrection event is believable, unlike the Easter Bunny myth. Children need to learn the reasons this event is true at an early age, so they can defend it to an ever-growing skeptical culture.
Please click on the link (below) to download this FREE e-book. Included are instructions on how to make your own Easter egg craft by filling plastic Easer eggs with items that go along with the story. It’s a fun thing to do with kids, and a great way to learn the truth of this grand event of all time—the Resurrection of Jesus Christ.
I’d love your feedback on the e-book and craft! Let me know how your kids liked it. It would be FUN to see your “Egg-Vidence” egg cartons, if you decide to make one. E-mail me a picture of your egg carton with the figurines you include in the plastic eggs. I will feature some of them on an upcoming blog post! e-mail: lisaqthinkdivinely@gmail.com
God bless you as you celebrate this most important season of the Christian faith — Christ has risen, Hallelujah!

[1]“But if it is preached that Christ has been raised from the dead, how can some of you say that there is no resurrection of the dead? If there is no resurrection of the dead, then not even Christ has been raised. And if Christ has not been raised, our preaching is useless and so is your faith.” 1 Corinthians 15:12-14
Great idea for crafts. I will try them out with my granddaughters. Thanks
You are welcome! Let me know how they like it. Blessings!
This is wonderful! I find that while things like Santa and the Easter bunny can seem harmless, they do take away from the TRUTH of what we’re celebrating. Thanks for taking the time to share that truth!
Thanks, Emily. Another friend of mine mentioned that he didn’t like anything to do with Easter bunnies or eggs, and wasn’t sure that my “Egg-vidence” eggs idea was something he’d be into. But what I told him was that it’s similar to what we do with the Christmas tree. The Christmas tree was a pagan thing, as people used to worship the “evergreen” tree because it stayed green in the winter, and they assumed it was magic. So, the Christians used that as symbolic of the ever-lasting life in Jesus Christ – they brought Christ into something the pagans related to – and showed them the truth. I’m kind of doing the same thing with the plastic Easter Eggs. It’s my prayer that parents will use it as a fun tool to teach their kids truth. Thanks for your stopping by!
What a great point! There are so many holidays like that where God’s truth can prevail. I’m so thankful that nothing can overcome His Words!
Amen. Thanks for stopping by!
What a nice idea!
Thanks! I hope families use it to teach their children the truths of the Resurrection. Thanks for stopping by!
This is really important, Lisa! I just LOVE what you do. Thank you for the tips and the wisdom.
Thanks, Jessica! Blessings
Very nice idea! Thank you for sharing.
What awesome ideas!
Lisa, I love that you wrote this children’s book, the title, the craft. I mean what’s not to love about this whole thing from a Christian’s perspective on the resurrection. I’ll download the book for my grandson and pass on the craft idea to his momma.
Thanks, Karen! Your grandson might be a bit young if he is in preschool; it’s leveled at grade school kids. But it is never too young to teach them the challenges they will face in a skeptical culture! Bless you.
This is a wonderful resource for Christian families, Lisa! I remember when my kids were younger, we special ordered a kids video that actually taught the Resurrection story. And a friend gave me a cookie recipe that was supposed to represent Jesus breaking free from the grave. (It never quite turned out, but my kids liked the cookies!) Anyway, families need things just like this, to refocus on the reason we celebrate Easter. God bless you!
Thanks, Melissa, for your kind comment. I do hope families like it, but not everyone likes looking at the criticisms against the Resurrection. I bring up some skeptical claims and teach kids how to refute them. However, many believers feel it’s not necessary to address the negative accusations. But evidence shows that if we don’t address the false accusations, we may end up loosing kids to a worldview that rejects Christianity. That is the hard truth. These are the times in which we live, and thus, we must rise to meet the challenges.
I love the truth and heart behind this. I have resurrection eggs but haven’t done a good job going through them with our kids. This year my big two are the right age to really understand and benefit from this resource and I can’t wait to do it with them! Thank you so much!
Thanks, Elaine. I definitely think these eggs are for older kids, not preschoolers. So, let me know how they respond to the “dozen facts.” Blessings!
